Included instructions are easy to follow.

Was easy to install and get screwed into our camper door. The spring does make a little bit of noise when you open the door, but it's easily adjusted to shut quickly. Or as gently as you would like. The screws and drill bits included work perfectly and it's sharp and easy to pierce the aluminum. You should use a center punch to get the bits in the right spot so that it doesn't walk when drilling. I also used a level to make sure the wire was even across the door.

Glad I have this, kids can't leave the screen open now

How nice it is to have the screen shut behind me when I'm carrying something out. It does have a sound as it closes, the cable makes that when it retracts. This installed easy, works exactly how I hoped, and is a great addition to the RV. It fit great and closes the screen, what more could I ask for! *As an Amazon Vine member I select products personally to review. Favorable 4-5 star reviews are common since I select items I expect I will like. However, should the product fall short I will always include honest information. All opinions are my own and I may solicit feedback from my family.

Easy Installation and Works Great!

Why did I wait so long to get this ordered? This was all ready assembled and the directions were very clear so installation was easy. There is only one size needed so for was right on the money and not an issue. What a pleasure to have your hands full when leaving the camper and have the door close behind you! The amount of tension required to close the door can be adjusted. The device is almost hidden in the door and this helps increase functionality. Quality built product that is a good buy for the money. I was impressed enough to buy the same brand for another addition to our camper.

Great for keeping the flies out of your RV.

The puller is just strong enough to pull just the screen door, when it is not locked onto the main door. This is good as you have times when you want the main door open but the screen door shut. It is really great when you are getting in or out of your RV with both hands full. Stops those pesky flies immediately. I used a super strong double stick tape, rather than drill the door. Seems to work just fine. If you get it too tight it will smack you on the back. The tension control is very easy to use. One of my pictures shows how it disappears on the door. Actually looks very much like the door itself.

Highly Recommend

I'm so glad to finally not have to remind my kids to shut the screen door!! I have an old style door that doesn't have enough room on the frame at the handle, but I was able to mount the unit at the bottom of the door. I connected the spring wire at the maximum length, and it works great. You are able to adjust and shorten as needed. One issue I had is that two of the included screws were too big. I have a bucket of spare screws, though, so that was quickly solved. Two drill bits were included, but I only used the smaller one (you can always drill bigger, but it's hard to make a hole smaller). It also came with large, clear directions with pictures and instructions. I highly recommend giving this a try if you're constantly struggling to keep your screen door shut, like I was!

Make sure your door style matches the description.

I knew when I ordered this that I would have to adapt it to the style of door on our Gulf Stream Endura Super C motor home. I had to mount it on the bottom of the door since ours doesn't have a strong enough middle section. First I had to make sure it cleared the bottom step by closing the door and marking the door sill location with a pencil. The door frame didn't match the one in the product description so I had to mount the wire capture block on the inside of the steps. This required me to drill the threaded holes on the block so I could use self-tapping hex head screws as shown in the photo. It does work but it took some thought to get things right. It is handy since grand kids don't seem to be able to close the door to keep bugs out and this should help.

GOOD BUT NOT GREAT!!!

I was very grateful to see a device like this, because it is frustrating when you have your hands full and going in or out of your travel trailer that most screen doors don't automatically close after being opened. This product definitely fills a need and the installation was fairly easy after watching the video instructions that are included on the sale page. My one complaint is that if you are dealing with any amount of wind, the screen door mechanism doesn't have enough pull power to close the door automatically against the wind. I am still very happy to have this product, and it will come in handy. I just wish the pull mechanism was a little stronger.

Every RV Needs This

This door closer from Safoner is a must-have for every RV. I was able to install it in about 20 minutes with my high-school-aged son while at the campground. The instructions were easy to understand, and filled with great photographs. The best part: The kit came with the necessary drill bits!!!! The spring bar mounted perfectly on the top horizontal rail of my screen door. I chose that location because the spring bar has a nice texture, which makes it a perfect grab-handle. There was plenty of room to mount the clip that holds the end of the cable. The only challenge that I could imagine is on RVs where the door only opens 90 degrees. That could make ti more challenging to screw the clip onto the frame, which must be fastened from the outside toward the inside. Watch the installation video and you can how 90 degree doors could be challenging. My camping friends were also thoroughly impressed. Every RV should have these on the screen doors.

Good product for the money

The Safoner RV Screen Door Closer with Adjustable Tension is a solid, practical upgrade for RV owners looking to improve screen door control, but it comes with a few trade-offs worth noting.

From a performance standpoint, the adjustable tension feature is both its biggest strength and its main challenge. When dialed in correctly, the closer provides smooth, reliable automatic closing that helps keep bugs out and reduces the need to manually shut the door. However, the adjustment range is somewhat sensitiveset the tension too high and the door tends to slam shut, which could lead to wear over time or be disruptive in a quiet campsite. On the flip side, setting it too loose means the door may not fully close, especially in moderate wind conditions.

Installation is fairly straightforward in theory, and the included accessories are a nice touch, making it compatible with most camper latches and travel trailer handles. That said, real-world installation can be tricky depending on your RV's door geometry. If your screen door doesn't open flush against the exterior wallas is the case with many modelsyou may need to spend extra time adjusting placement or even modifying the mounting approach to get optimal performance.

Build quality is respectable, with the aluminum construction offering a good balance of durability and lightweight design, suitable for the demands of RV travel.

Bottom line: This is a worthwhile addition for RV owners who want a more hands-free screen door, but expect a bit of trial and error in both installation and tension adjustment to get it just right. Once properly tuned, it performs wellbut it's not quite a set it and forget it solution.

Perfect Solution

This works great on my RV's screen door. The little bugs in most campgrounds only need a split second to find their way into your camper and while the screen door closer doesn't work that fast, it helps when the wife and grandkids forget to close the door. Installation was pretty straight forward and the instructions were well written. I also purchased a 2-pack of replacement wire in case the original one should break but the wire is coated in plastic and it is very sturdy wire. It is a perfect solution to an age old camping problem.
